Installing & activating an eSIM

To maximize the validity of your eSIM plan, install it before your departure date. Follow the steps below to install and turn on Data Roaming on your iPhone. The texts vary slightly depending on your phone model.

• Install an eSIM: Setting > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan > Scan the QR code provided
• Turn on Data Roaming: Settings > Select Cellular > Turn on Cellular Data > Select Cellular Data Options > Turn on Data Roaming.

• Install an eSIM: Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager > Add mobile plan/ Add eSIM > Scan the QR code provided.
• Turn on Data Roaming: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Turn on Data Roaming.

• Install an eSIM: Settings ? Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Scan the QR code provided.
• Turn on Data Roaming: Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Select your Teloka eSIM > Turn on Use this SIM. You will see the Mobile data and Roaming section below; turn them on and finish.

When using a travel eSIM, you may receive text messages in foreign languages from unfamiliar numbers. This is normal and often related to the network provider's automatic notifications. These messages can be welcomed, not spam. If you have questions, contact our customer support via online chat or email for further information.

After scanning the QR code and enabling roaming, if you still don’t get Internet access with your eSIM, you must configure APNs (Access Point Name) to fix the issue. Your APN allows you to connect to the network. It changes by country. Normally, an APN is set up automatically when you change eSIMs, but this may go wrong occasionally. You will need to handle this manually. You need to find out which APN to use, which is provided in the My eSIM page.

You can activate your Teloka eSIM once you arrive in the destination. To activate, you need to turn on Data roaming of the eSIM and make sure it is selected for data.
